Hi Guys,

Been a couple of years since I upgraded my rig, and have been having all sorts of trouble with my RAM. Ultimately, had to resort to running one stick in single channel as the dual channel wouldn't boot.

I think it may have finally given up the ghost, I've tried to deduce if it's the Mobo or the RAM. Have been unable to do this, so will just upgrade.

Currently running:

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155)
Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM

Any recommendations on RAM and a mobo? I won't be overclocking, and this CPU still seems to be up to scratch?

I think I will also go for a new graphics card, and a SSD. Mostly for a bit of work, some gaming and DVD's etc (the usual).

I don't want to spend a massive amount, as I'm not overclocking I shouldn't be spending too much on the MoBo/RAM?

Have had a browse - Posted my initial thoughts below. Will this GFX card be a massive improvement on my 480?

Also, if the MOBO turns out to be the problem, I should be able to run the XM3 4GB matched pair with this new 8GB matched pair??

Hopefully with the 12GB RAM, SSD & GFX card I should see a marked improvement. The motherboard looks OK to me, am I missing a trick here? (Again, really don't have much appetite with faffing around with overclocking anymore).

Any thoughts on the individual components gratefully received. I want to order this today if possible!

Sounds more like the mobo fella. If you have tried both sticks of RAM individually and they work it's more likely an iffy DIMM slot.

The Z68 would still allow overclocking. If it was me I'd probably do this.....
