Faulty monitor or just plain shoddy quality?

Bonjour.

At christmas a year ago (the one before last) I received an Asus VH226H monitor from OcUK which has been pretty decent.

HOWEVER!

There are two problems/annoyances.

1. Backlight bleed? When gaming mode is on, one can notice two exceedingly obvious blue bars running along the top and bottom of the screen. Like a really poor gradient in PS. The centre of the screen is black, but the top and bottom are a really dark blue, is this a fault or poor design?

2. HDMi issue. Whenever I have the 360 plugged in via HDMi and then turn the 360 off, the monitor scats out and freezes. It won't let me switch the input so I have to then refire up the 360, change the input AND THEN turn it off.

Forum folk, may I have your two cents?

Is it RMA-able do you think?

Might be worth giving it a go. Not sure what the warranty length is with the manufacturer. Even if it is only a year sometimes they let that go and fix it anyway.
Samsung have done that with me a couple of times with tv's. At worst they might charge to fix it, but then that's still probably going to be much cheaper then buying a new screen.
