Faulty Motherboard?

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R
Corsair 620W
8800GT
2x 1GB OCZ 88Mhz
Q6600

I only have the following connected and nothing shows up in the monitor when I boot... The fans are spinning for 10 seconds or so and then it stops and the computer is no longer on.

is everything seated correctly, RAM, GPU

do you have your 24 pin and the 8pin or 6pin mobo connectors in correctly

Tried resetting the CMOS ?

I found out the system kept shutting down because the 24-pin was not fully in.
I also think I have faulty ram and I have a question about my monitor which i'll ask in the monitor forum.

I have recently fixed a PC with the same sort of problem. Power to everything, but monitor remains with no signal, no beeps from the mobo.
Tested PSU, CPU, RAM, GPU, HDD - mobo needed replacing.

Monitor wasn't working until I changed to the analog connector. I'll try my DVI another day.
