Faulty Play & Charge Kit?

Hey,

Was just wondering if my play and charge kit is actually faulty. I can use the controller with the USB charge lead in - but there's no light on the part where it plugs in (usually red for charging and green for charged I think) at the top of the controller.

The Orb in the middle of the controller rotates in green quartets as if it is charging but the moment the lead is pulled out the controller dies. On the marketplace screen there is no indication of any 'battery' so I assume the pack has just died on me?

Anything I should try (I've tried it with another controller and get the same thing) or if anyone has had the problem before did it take long to be RMA'd?

I expect the worst but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Cheers.

Sounds as though the battery has failed. Lithium Ion batteries can do this in certain circumstances. Either that or the contacts are dirty or something. The Quadrants on the control pad should only do the rotating thing when the battery is low.
Was it new?

Yeah, it's no more than 2 months old.

Had the same sort of thing with my laptop where it wouldn't load with a battery but was fine with the lead - so I assume that's what has happened here, as ya say.

Should I return it to the e-tailer or Microsoft? The former has a 28 day policy but isn't the first year of the product (under warranty) their responsibility?
