Faulty PS4 :(

you should have just told Sony it had the blinking light of death, apparently they just swap them over without question at the doorstep.

Well no because thats not true is it, it doesnt have a light of death, I would have expected Sony would have done a collect and replace service to be honest.

Well then you can't expect them to take someone's word for it that they never dropped it and broke it. So what Sony are doing seems fair, I would not have let Game fob me off though.
 
TBH thats atrocious, dies/died within days of purchasing it the retailer should be expected to sort it out, when game said no I'd haev been speaking to my CC company tbh.

IF anythign else went faulty that fast I'm sure the retailer would sort it out, Game have probably said that just so they don't have to lose out on selling another console bundle

no no no, I am not expecting them to take my word for it, I agree with what you are saying that why should Sony believe I havent dropped it, I could have done you are right, you are missing the point I am trying to make, Sony have said that I have dropped it without even seeing the unit, they shouldnt be making such accusations before they have inspected the unit,

What Sony are doing isnt right at all, they shouldnt have accused me of dropping it in the first place until they had it back.

As far as game are concenred I wouldnt have wanted a refund even if they had of been able to do it (still not happy they said they cant as im sure like many others have said is illegal) I want a PS4, If I would have had a refund I would have then had to of tried to find stock somewhere which atm isnt looking very good.

I'm hopfull that Sony will get this unit back, replace it and send it back in good time, happy days :cool:

Thats exactly what I think is going on, Game apparently only have enough stock to fulfill demand for pre orders, if they start replacing faulty units, they then have customers they cant meet demand for which will obviously kick off in store and they dont want that.

Game should have taken into account systems which would be returned faulty.

All a bit of a joke really.

One of the managers from Sony phoned me about 30 mins ago, had a chat with him and he said due to the inconvienience he would give me a free game too, either Killzone or Knack, So opted for Killzone, he said its a poromotional copy but is the full game, ill trade in the Killzone I bought for £40 and hopfully get my money back on it,

Decent result!

I remember when my 360 broke, I went into HMV and told the guy at the desk. His words were "I'll get the manager, but he'll try and flog you off somehow. Refuse to leave till you have a new console mate, he's a right ****" So I stood and had an arguement with the manager for the best part of 15 minutes, right enough a new console was given to me before leaving.

Never got the game replaced that the console destroyed mind.

Good result with Sony, done the same with my PSP. Turned up, handed me a new one and toke my old one away the next day. Was in total shock.
 
I had a problem with my 40gig ps3 making a strange sound from the disc drive, took it back to curries who tried to fob me off back to sony. I just stood my ground and eventually they caved, but they had no 40gigs in stock so I walked out with an 80gig :-)
 
Really annoys me that places which sell items feel they have no obligations because they didn't physically build it. You sold it, you deal with it unless clearly stated otherwise.
 
My PS4 has been dodgy for a few days, the screen flickers then goes white and black, I have had to remove the hdmi cable and put it in again which would make it work. I ordered from 2Game and I just checked their site, no sign of any PS4 consoles and they are not open until the new year so I thought I might just phone Sony not expecting them to be open on Boxing day. Luckily they were open, got straight through, explained the fault and replacement ordered to be delivered on 31/12 door stop exchange for console with original HDD only. Very good service, I am impressed as I was expecting them to be closed or to be left on hold and I was expecting a long diagnosis over the phone.
 
Yeah can't knock Sony for the way they are handling these issues. Called on the Sunday evening. Replacement was under my tv Tuesday dinner time. No more hdmi handshake issues or crashes
