Faulty PSU, fried Wii

Hi there, i got a new PSU for my kid's Wii after we moved back from Japan. They enjoyed playing on it for a while after having bugged me for ages about not having a PSU for the UK.

After about an hour of playing the Wii suddenly switched off and wouldn't even go into power mode. They said they heard a pop from the back of the console (I should imagine this was the power supply going) and now the system is bricked.

I sent the item in its original box (which is plastered with faked "Wii" logos even though the item was listed as Official) back to the retailer and got a refund. However, I am left with a bricked system no money for a new one, and some pretty upset kids. Surely I am within my right to claim from the retailer for this? I bought the falsely listed "Official" item from a seller through a very very large, online store which has been round for many years and of course, all purchases are covered by the store (it is NOT an auction site).

Where do I stand in this situation?

Thanks in advance for any help / ideas.

Quick update: I emailed the company and received a reply asking me to send the console back to them (using attached freepost form) and they will send a new console out! :)

Result :D
