Hi

I've got a Corsair HX650 powering pc in sig, the past couple of days ive been encoding a load of video files and uploading them for work no problem, i sent a load uploading today and everytime i came back it had restarted, tried again before and it was acutally just rebooting as soon as i tried to encode a single file, did this about 5 or 6 times. Ive swapped the socket on the psu for the pci-e leads and also one of the molex connectors and now its behaving itself fine.

Seems a little odd but its working however I thought the psu was a single rail so it wouldnt make any difference which sockets were used, unless its the sockets themselves, either way does it sound faulty?

Also anyone any idea how long corsair usually take for an RMA turn around as Ill likely have to purchase another psu if its going to be over a few weeks, i purchased it just under a year ago, is the 1st year the responsibility of the supplier?

Corsair RMA is to the Netherlands.

I don't know how long an RMA takes but I've seen posts regarding the cost of sending a PSU to them.

As it's within the first year you should contact the retailer and let them sort it out.

Yeah ive just done that, luckily its just within the 1st year, i bought it 6 may 2010. Will see what they have to say, I can send upto 30kg for £14 so its not the end of the world if i have to rma to corsair

Yeah should be fine. Did you try plugging the pci-e's back around again in the sockets that didn't work to confirm it wasn't just that one of them had come loose?

actually i didnt but they were in tight to begin with but I can try that before i do send it off i guess,

Cheers! :D

Corsair's RMA turnaround time is usually about a week after you receive confirmation from them that they have received the RMA. It's been about that both times I've had to RMA their products.:)
