Hi, my pc has just turned off and wont turn back on,i have checked everything and everything seems fine, the 24pin connector is fully down, but when I put the 24pin connector 1\3 of the way in it comes on but when i put it fully down it goes off, now i have tried different mobos and other psu's and it does exactly the same, i have done the paper clip trick to check the psu and its all fine. I just don't understand why its doing it with a different mobo and psu. Could anyone please help? T.I.A

If you're trying different combinations of bare motherboard and power supply and the same symptoms present themselves I'm at a loss. Logic tells me there's a common denominator and the only things left to swap are the power lead or the wall socket. Try those.
No just tried those and still nothing, its like the connectors are not connecting properly, i read some where that if you remove the green wire out of the 24pin connector and touch metal it works but i don't know if i should try it? I mean i nowt else to loose
) or you're very unlucky and either have 2 duff motherboards or 2 duff power supplies.
@ExRayTed, i have done everything right this is my 4th build, the power. Supplys work as i have done the paper clip trick and it was perfect (on both psu's), it could be the motherboards i don't know, i have just removed everything left just the mobo in and took the green wire out of the 24pin connector touched the case and everything booted up? So i just don't understand it.
