faulty ram ?

bought mushkin there 8 gig to replace my 4 gig ones, installed them and pc would not boot , then decided check one stick at the time one seems to be okey but the other one doesn't even boot to bios .

is it faulty or can i try something else ?

You did the right thing to check each stick separately.. If one stick works but the other is okay, then it would suggest a faulty stick. Download and run memtest86+ on the faulty stick just to be sure.

cant really test the other one if both sticks are in pc doesnt boot, well fans are spinning but screens is black. only one stick can boot properly

If the system fails with one stick but not the other then you have found the culprit anyway. RMA if it's still under warranty.

just received ram yesterday oh well , hopefully replacement will be good .
