Faulty replacement card from BFG?

Hey all,

Just over a week ago I started to get screen corruption in Windows and then in the BIOS, I have a BFG 8800GTX. After swapping the ram around and trying it with only 1 stick of 1GB I was still gettin the screen corruption so I contacted BFG support. They issued an RMA for the card, I sent it to their warehouse in Wales. I got an update that the card was being replaced and to expect one in the post in about a weeks time (shipping from USA for some reason).

Anyway, the replacement card arrived today, it's the same model that I sent out to them. Within a few minutes of loading up a test game the screen corrupted and then started to flash black. I rebooted the machine and the screen corruption was still happening (standard looking corruption covering the majority of the screen). I have ran a 3 hour memory test just in case it was a memory problem but all passed.

Could it be that I have been sent a faulty replacement or do you think it's more likely to be a faulty board (or something else even)? I have contacted BFG again and am waiting for their response.

Hopefully I will be able to borrow a friends card later at the weekend. it's just a bit frustrating having waited a week to only have the same problem. Do you think it sounds like a graphics card problem still?

I can only give a very rough spec from memory whilst at work, I'll be more specific when I get home:

GFX: BFG 8800GTX (single)
Board: Asus P5N32-E SLI
CPU: Intel Core 2 E6300 1.86Ghz
Memory: 4x 1GB Geil PC6400
HDD: Samsung Spin-point F1 320GB SATA2
Sound: SB Audigy 2
PSU: Corsair HX 620W

EDIT:
Checked all of the above so it is all accurate, still not heard anything back from the BFG staff, normally they are quick off the mark... :(

If it was the PSU, would there be any other signs or symptoms I could look for to confirm it?

Is there anything specifically relating to Nvidia that I can use to test the card with in the mean time? I can't see anything that is in the Nvidia display control panel.

I know this may sound daft, but did you make a note of the original cards unique serial number, only mention this as it's not unheard of to receive the exact same card you sent off on RMA as an alleged replacement!

The above happened to me last year when I was building a friends new full system (OcUK had nothing to do with it). The alleged replacement (Re-shrink wrapped I might add) showed exact same problems, and needless to say I was  upon discovering the cards unique serial number(s) matched what had been sent off under RMA! After much hassle received an actual working replacement.

Edit: The card was not a BFG model.

Yeah I checked the serial number and it is different, I was also tracking the parcel from the USA (I was in Norway at the time), I sent the card to their warehouse in Wales and the replacement was sent from the states. I have been running a small 3D app whilst at the gym and it has been running ok for 2 hours.... wish it would be more consistant!!!

EDIT: Spoke to soon, the screen just started flicking between black and corrupted picture, with the pc being locked up. I had been monitoring the temp of the new card, its running at about 80 degrees whilst running 3d apps. Not sure how that compares to my old card or if that's too hot? This surely has to be a problem with the replacement card. Also after resetting the PC, the bios loaded with a lovely yellow corrupted picture. The pc still booted up into windows though and loaded the desktop with no corruption.

Ok, bit of a self bump...

However, I am testing the gfx card in another machine and another gfx card in mine (hopefully tonight), if it turns out that the GFX card is ok, surely I am looking at a motherbaord issue? OCuK said they will test the board and return it to Asus if it's found to be faulty (Asus mobo RMA = terrible). That will probably take forever so I was thinking of just buying a replacement. There doesn't seem to be much choice as a replacement, I was thinking

I know it's Asus again, but all the Nforce LGA 775 boards are Asus that OCuK sell. What do you think?
