I've got an odd problem here. Specifically it's a laptop, but I've been considering mini itx with sodimm so Id like to know whats going on here.
This ideapad, running an A6-3400M (dual channel controller), had 1x4gb & 1x2gb samsung c9 1.5v sodimms in it. The very ones apple use. I planned on swapping the 2gb for another 4gb to get it running dual channel however the new dimm - which is identical to the old one in all but manufacture date (M471B5273DH0-CH9) - has a good 300MB/s lower bandwidth.
For example. The original dimm ran at 3105 single channel, with or without the 2gb dimm. The new one runs at 2846MB/s, with or without the 2gb dimm. If both 4gb dimms are inserted they run at 2846 MB/s single channel.
Is this new dimm faulty or is there a good reason (I'm missing) why it runs at a slower speed?
