My laptop sometimes gets very loud. On these occasions, in HWMonitor "TZ02" is showing 89c. It doesn't go up or down at all, regardless of whether i'm playing a game or just on the desktop. 50% of the time though, TZ02 isn't 'found' during POST and the fan spins at normal speeds, getting louder as I play games as you would expect.

The CPU cores are happily at 40c on the desktop, the 5470m GPU is at 48c. I've recently changed the CPU and the only thing I can think of is I knocked the sensor. I've gone back to the old CPU and it still does it so it isn't a dodgy ebay CPU.

Does anyone know where/what TZ02 would be? I have TZ00, TZ01, and the individual cores. I doubt it would be the integrated GPU on the processor as it happens with both CPUs... Also the GPU is found under TMPIN0.

I've also run the laptop out of its case, without the screen, USB header, HDD, DVD, WiFi/Bluetooth module and 1x stick of RAM (so basically the motherboard only, plugged into a vga monitor) and it still did it...

What make and model number is the laptop? I will try find you the service manual for it. That way you can locate the sensor in question and maybe replace it or remove it or some you can just short them with a bit of solder so they basically read zero.
