Faulty

I just purchased 4gb memory (2x2gb ocz) to replace my old memory 2gb (2x1gb)

After installing in DIM1 and 2 i booted up, my computer only showed ram in DIM2 working. So i tried moving the ram in DIM1 to dim3 or 4 but computer then wouldnt even boot. It just made the beeping error noise when i switched it on.

Finally i tried to put the ram previously in dim1 into dim2 and whilst i got no error noise upon powering up, the monitor stayed off.

I then phoned ocz told them about ram and they told me to rma as it seems 1 stick is faulty. I have to rma both sticks as dual ram so i had to reinstall my old 2x1gb ram. Now heres the problem, its only recognising the stick in dim2. help

BASICALLY: 2 sticks of ram working in dim1 and 2. purchase new ram 1 of which is faulty. rma and return to my old ram. now ram not working in dim1 only 2.

Check what your board supports in the manual mate

Not got any documentation about my mobo but the details are as follows:

Manufacturer: Dell
Model: 0CT103 A03
Chipset nvidia geforce 6150 A2
Southbridge: nvidia nforce 410/430 mcp

and the ram i purchased was OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2.

I think they are compatible as one of the sticks worked but if anyone knows for sure pls let me know. (and if you work for ocz and find they arent compatible delay my rma and il exchange for others. only posted today so i should be able to delay / exchange if needed ty)
