Any idea what the "unspecified error" is that stops me adding favorites in IE7 Vista 64?

Can add in manually by adding a shortcut to the favorites folder, but it's a bit longwinded. Have changed permissions, makes no difference.

Have you tried:

Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Click Advanced Tab
Click Reset to Default

If this works, chances are its an add-on you've downloaded it breaking it.

And if the guy wanted to go to the crap that calls itself Firefox then he would have done! As discussed in numerous threads on here already.

Not sure why it works, but did it and it now accepts favorites. Thank you! Haven't installed any toolbars that I can recall...Hmmmm....

And in answer to Hen_Dawg's useless if not amusing reply ;), it's a new Vista install, so I've got nothing installed, but needed to access the internet. Have patience!

Glad it worked.

You may have accidentally installed a plugin or something has changed a setting (hence the reset to defaults fixes most problems).

Now walk away from the tin openers... :)

ocuk should do what neowin do....if anybody posts another product as a solution to someones problem, it's considered as trolling and the user can be warned/suspended. ok, maybe a bit drastic but even i as a firefox fan don't like seeing it offered as an alternative rather than trying to solve the problem at hand. :)

Quoted for the truth.

Another product isn't a solution to a question relating to a specific product problem.
