I bought a BlackBerry storm second-hand (although essentially new as the guy had only unlocked it, it was still packaged) from a guy online. Everything works fine except the guy had registered it via Vodafone's BIS service.

I can't get a hold of the guy I bought it off as I think he's out of the country. I've got a data plan and what not on O2 but can't get it setup on BIS with O until Vodafone release the PIN, which I need him to do, aaaahhhh

Anyway, there is a way to release the PIN yourself but you need the help of someone that already has a BlackBerry registered on BIS.

Can you have a read of the gide at http://www.berrymanual.com/release-blackberry-pin-in-5-minutes/ and let me know if you'd be willing to help me out?

If it comes to it I'll PayPal you a few quid for a pint :D

Sadly i dont think theres anything you can do to get it released...although you could ring up O2 or Vodafone and tell them that your getting the guys emails and they should pass it onto RIM who take that sort of thing pretty seriously ie security issue.

Id try what i said above and see how you get on with that....failing that you can always pop over to www.crackberry.com for more help or info.

Btw good luck with the Storm, personally i wouldnt have touched with a bargepole, having had one back when they first were released...suffice to say it didnt last more than 2 days with me before i sent it back.

Thanks Spawn. I've got a guy willing to help me out tonight so I'll see how it goes. This method supposedly works so we'll see. I'm enjoying the phone so far and from what I've read, it's improved greatly since first release as the software's improved.

Got it sorted. The guy that sold me the phone gave me the details for the BIS account so I contacted Vodafone by forums/email. I then explained the situation and they released it from their BIS once I gave them the PIN, IMEI and account name. :D

Have to say well done Vodafone.
