Hey guys,

What's the generally favoured option for a closed loop cooler than would fit in a 120mm fan mount? Prefer quiet coolers over mega efficiency - making the assumption that pretty much any watercooler will beat a mid range air cooler?

Secondary question; should I push air out the back of the case with it, or pull air in? Older style case, PSU at the top. GPU mostly vents inside the case, so if it won't bork the airflow, intake sounds good, but it goes against decades of training ¬_¬

I've gone off going Haswell what with the tepid reception and blazing temperatures, and since my 2500k does 4.5 on surprisingly few volts I figured I'd strap a better cooler to it and see how high it'll really go. Tis a willing chip, but my current cooler just can't cope with it any faster :)

Cheers

None are especially quiet due to the provided fans...

Personally I'd go for one of those reconditioned H80's (£36?) And slap a pair of gt 1850's on it.

I was just eyeing the refurb cooler banner actually :) Sad to hear they're not very quiet though, I'd rather hoped they'd be better than air cooling for noise levels :/

It's just the stock fans that are noisy, easily changed out for some gentle typhoons, which not only run quieter, they also perform better :)
