My MX500 did this a month or so ago, lasted about a week and then it stopped. Shift + arrow key is one workaround for selecting text. The scroll wheel stops working occasionally too, it's getting old like me
Remember my beloved old g7 wireless getting that
Vaguely recollect taking it apart and bending the bit of copper inside the switch a tiny bit
Very fiddly from my memory of it
In the past I've bought omron microswitches for a few quid on eBay and soldered them on. You'll need a soldering iron and a desoldering pump (or a desoldering wire). It's pretty easy to do, as long as you can get the mouse apart safely
The switch you typically find in mice are d2fc-f-7n.. try to get the 20m click variant (or higher) if possible.
