A few friends and I were discussing what our favorite album covers were and why. Discussion included the Beatles White Album, Aphex Twin and a few others.

What are you three favorite album covers and why?

PInk Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon is still my favourite. Maybe it's the scientific thing. After that, Black Sabbath (debut) because of the whole wizard thing, then possibly the Who's Tommy.

Guns N' Roses - The Spaghetti Incident because i love spaghetti.
Deftones - Around The Fur, Cleavage shot for the win!
all i can think of :S

Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones

Because it had a real zip on the cover. Designed by Andy Warhol I think :)

My favourites are:

I love most of the Flaming Lips album covers because they are often quite serene paintings, drawings or photographs. I like yosihimi the best though, probably because of the wiggly doodads coming out of that big pink thing's
legs.

Edit: I have thought a long time about the third one, lots of things came in and I think I will settle for Massive Attack's 100th Window. But I think to appreciate it you have to have it BIG so here is the link to the big picture

I think Primal Scream do some great album covers, I nearly posted up Screamadelica because of its iconic nature, but I think I like XTRMNTR the best, evil heat is a good contender as well. However Primal Scream have made shocking album covers as well as clothing taste and music. All shown off in the album below. :D

The one I laugh the most at is:

A huge british Designer and deserves plenty of recognition. Not as keen on the bands mind you but the album art is great!

The first two albums by Carcass and Our Problem by Iron Monkey.

Earache records were raided on trumpted-up obscenity charges in the early 90s. Part of these charges were levelled against Carcass sleeve art.

Our Problem's cover is by the only artist to have actually been arrested for producing his art.

and the correct answer it....

Tool, Lateralus. The plastic inlay is the most awesomest cover ever.

The cover of 'Horse and Goat' by Venetian Snares is oh so wrong :/

My favourite album cover is probably this one:

It really captures something special.
