I have been asked to look into replacing our fax machine with some form of software solution but have very little knowledge on the subject.

We have a single fax machine at the moment that plugs directly into a phone line, what i would like to get rid of the fax machine altogether and run some form of fax server on our network to send and receive faxes.

We have a dedicated number for the fax machine and I would still like everyone on the network to be able to send and recieve faxes - ideally they would be sent to and from Outlook or something similar.

I'm sure it must be possible and I'm sure with enough research I'll come across what i'm looking but my free time is scarce at the moment so i'm hoping a few of you nice folk on here will help steer me in the right direction!

Thanks in advance.

Dan.

Check out GFI Faxmaker, I haven't used any others to compare against but it was always reliable and simple to use.

I have assumed you are using an Exchange server as you have mentioned Outlook.

Yeah i had seen the offering from GFI but feel it may be a little too expensive. Unfortunately this needs to be done as cheaply - is there anything in the sub £200 region?

Well having re-visited the MS fax service i think we'll stick with that.

It does meet our requirements exactly but is close enough and is free too which is a bonus!!
