I am wondering is FBDIMM compatible with a Giga-Bye GA-MA78GM motherboard?? I have 2x4gb sticks I would like to use with it if it is ?

don't think so no.

From what I read it supports max 8Gb (4x2Gb) so I'm not even sure if it will take 4Gb modules.

Nope it's not compatible. It's for server boards and Mac Pro's.

Sell it to somebody with a Mac Pro.

How did you end up getting FB-DIMMs by mistake? They cost twice as much as an equivalent standard DDR2 quantity.
