so i was on my PC just a moment ago and the temp hit 60oc and didn't go down for a few mins i thought this was alarming as i wasn't really imo stressing it, so i went to my asus monitor programme and found
CPU frequency 1645-1650Mhz. im gonna guess and say this isn't good? heres my system
Sandy Bridge 15 2500k
Asus p8p67 pro
Gskill ripsaw 2x4gb DDR3 1600mhz

ive not overclocked it so this is what makes me worry more
heres what the auto tune and such settings are showing
Vcore 0.960
+12V 12.096
+5V 5.120
+3.3V 3.344
BCLK Frequency 103
CPU voltage 1.165
DDR VOltage 1.5
VCCSA Voltage 0.92500
VCCIO Volatge 1.05000
CPU PPL Voltage 1.80000
PCH Voltage 1.02
CPU ratio is set to 39 4017MHZ and 103.0 x 16.0 for the cores
CPU at the moment is 22-23oC

not sure what else to post any advice would be great

Sounds like it's just dropped down to idle speed, which is normal. Check it again while running something strenuous and it should have hit the accelerator pedal.

Edit: oh, having bothered to read the details it does look like auto tune is overclocking your system for you (when required). Whether the individual numbers are healthy or not I'm not sure. BLCK above 100 certainly looks risky, based on what I've read here. I'd spend some time reading the sticky above if I were you. It might reassure you, or worry you more. :-)

I thought that might be the case too so ran some and nothing changed, so that's what lead me to fear, I'll try running 2 or 3 games at the same time that should strain it and I'll look at the bcl and lower it might even fully follow the guide and attempt an overclock my self....
Cheers for the heads up idlle sounds a lot nicer to be occurring stupid late night Asus warnings!

I would check your CPU cooler mounting. I sounds like you have a bad mount. And possibly that the CPU is protecting itself by throttling back due to heat issues.

Agree with PCZ seems a rather SUN type thread title.
