Fear of clubs' bouncer rejection

Hello internet,

Following the catastropic and unforeseen breakup with my love of 18 months I have found myself single again and needing to brave being in a dark room filled with 300 drunk students and young professionals. I'm not afraid to mingle and flirt with girls, however, in a large group I'm afraid of being not let in and the effect that has on the group as they are regulars.

Common sense tells me if I'm in a big group of regulars with some hot girls I should pass thru just fine. However I had the embarrasment of being denied entry years back and the memory has come back to haunt me.

The nightclub by word of mouth is described as 'posh' and closer inspection of website's pictures tells me it's full of pricks. Regardless, the social group I'm mingling with go there and it seems I need to brave the deeps.

Any words of wisdom or stories from the internet?

EDIT:
Club is Karbon in Glasgow.
Thinking of replacing shoes with these

In Glasgow, Karbon. Some of the girls in the pics come from my old highschool. (though I didn't associate with the 'popular' kids)

My shoe collection is rather limited =p, though I might add you can just see the brown suede under my jeans which aren't ripped.

But at least I'm not stuck up some alley with a bottle of buckfast, where my sole form of entertainment would be ambushing strangers in the middle of the night.

If all fails I guess we will keep on trying.

Been to Kushion, was much more relaxed inside and I met my first gf there, and Bamboo where I went with my trator ex-gf, had no problems apart from 1 rejection from Kushion [Black shirt, bouncer having a slow day]

Also might add, I'm not going with mates this time, I might be the only guy in a mix of asian girls. If all goes well it's looking good =D

Edit: if I can be bothered I'll look for shoes in town during the day.

WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?!
- yeah I should probably look into new shoes. What do non-internet people wear?
Of the 150 pics in the club gallery there is not one picture that has a visible shoe. I presume they wear slippers.

Not sure if Next does overclocked shoes but I'll add that to my list. Feels a bit odd to wear black shoes with Jeans, would dig up my old school shoes but I might give this a go.

I'm no jean expert, but why are jeans getting really tight at the knees? Who's ******* idea was that? Mine are like those linked above without the lighter stripes.
EDIT: Without the £90 price tag  Mine are £55 from Cult.
