Hi there,

I was just wondering about people and their experiences with flying? I'm about to step onto an aero-plane for the first time in a couple of hours and being that high up is really starting to make me sweat. Is it all that bad? Or am I just over reacting? I will have music, will that help? Or a book perhaps?

I will be sleepy, I have to leave in 3 hours for it. I'm heading to Faro for a holiday away from the icy plains of Scotland. Start off with not so long trips I suppose... but thanks that sort of eases me. Some phillip k. dick and "A scanner darkly" should do the trick. Or not. I'll report back on the 30th haha

Where and how was it for you benjo for flying?

Don't worry about it, thousands of people fly every day! It is just like sitting in a car, and statistically no more dangerous. Plus you get the added bonus of being fed, and can get up to go to the toilet/stretch/look at stewardesses whenever you want!

It's always going to be unnerving - we spend all of our time firmly rooted to the ground, so being that high up in what is nothing more than a sophisticated tube of metal can shake the nerves.

Listen to music, read a book, bring a Gameboy! There are safety regulations for a reason. Chances are, you will be fine. Enjoy it. Try to look at it as a challenge to be conquered, rather than an obstacle to be avoided.

See you on the other side. :P

Just be a man about it, like when you about to dive off somewhere high up, you are scared at first, but when you do it you feel really good, almost like having a holiday!

The first time I flew, was delayed by 20 mins and it made it worse, Take off is a little unerving the climb especially but once your up if their is no turbulence you would honestly think its fake lol.

Landing is okay, just a quick bump. Dont worry I still hate flying but it wasnt as bad as I expected.
