FEAR problem

Reinstalled Windows and FEAR having just replaced my mobo and CPU but right at the beginning of the game when you first get out of the police card, there's a barrel with a fire in it. Since the reinstall, all I get is the sound of a fire but no actually fire and no shimmering effect.

What ingame setting controls this? I think everything is on max

Can anyone help

download the latest patch for the game, upon release the game was real buggy and no-one could run the game smoothly on max. Just something makes this game so demanding...

I'm not really fussed about the barrel just worried about what else I'll be missing

I've downloaded the latest full patch (1.08)

I've only got a AGP 6800 so I was surprised when it set my settings on max

run the built in becnhmark and see what your fps is. maxing eveything could kill your 6800.

Also, for get to say.....SWITCH OFF SOFT SHADOWS!!!

Makes no difference to overall picture quality, but heavily slows down FPS!!

Reinstalled the game in the end and everything's back as normal. just patched it up to 1.03 this time.
