FEAR Saved file restore...where to put them

I backed up a folder called

"Save" which held my saved points in fear.

iv re-installed fear and i put the folder back in the fear>userdirectory folder

but i cant load up the saved games?

inside the save folder that i backed up, i have 2 more folders.

profile00

and

profile01

inside these there are a number of files...

k what id do is this.
start a new game, play for 5 mins and then save it. (if its a checkpoint type game then well.. play longer

)

once you have a 'valid' save you will have a reference template to sort out your proper saves.

Doesnt work.

If i replace the whole folder, when i load up fear and select single player, the load option is greyed out as if there is no saved games.

Tried going into the game for 5 mins, saving and doing it that way but it dont work.

Weird......just had to do this myself and I did exactly what mittens said....and it worked fine. Sorry

But did you replace a certain file in the saved folder? or did you copy the whole folder over?

i did this with UT04 and altho that game let use the save fully i just took out the saves from the stored folder and dumped them into the new saves folder that came with the re-installed game

I think I copied just the profile folder...

Was this profile folder in the root of the user directory folder, or was it:

user directory>save>profile001

?

Actually, looking at my FEAR folders now it's quite confusing. There's a profiles folder in the FEAR folder with just one thing in - then a profile000 folder inside saves which seems to contain the actual save games.

Looks like im going to have to start the game again :mad:

What ever combo of file restoration i use, the load function in the game seems to grey itself out.
