FEAR + sound probs?

When I play the FEAR combat, after about 5 minutes all the sound on my computer seems to go wierd. There is a buzz in the background and it seems a bit slower than normal. Does anybody know why this is and if there is a fix?

Do you have EAX enabled?

I know it causes some problems for a few people online.

In the options menu, EAX and the other EAX menu's are greyed out but are on OFF anyway. ideas?

Think its just a problem associated with this patch. I have had problems with sound (intermittently) since upgrading to 1.07 but have never had any problems with sound on previous patches. :confused:

Ive noticed that the sound is fine and then when i die for the first time my whole system sound goes messed. I mean teamspeak is slow and distorted, songs play a tad slower than usual and every sound has a slight crackle to it. I tried to record the sound but it would record off teamspeak for some reason(when i restarted the computer, sound is fine and recording is fine.)

any 1 got any ideas?

Open up My Computer
Open up C drive, then Program Files, then Sierra, then FEAR Combat
In that folder there should be the file "WMFAdist"

Install that file, then play the game.

I just tried that, installed then started the game.

It seemed to last for a bit longer than normal then when I died and the slowdown thing happened when you die, the sound went again :confused:
