Fear the Wolves - S.T.A.L.K.E.R Themed Battle Royale

Anyone else in the closed beta starting tomorrow? Managed to land a key, so if anyone wants to party up then add away :)

Holy Moly i watched Doc's steam of it, what a steaming pile it's in at the moment.
I watched him playing as well and agree it looks very rough at the moment. The UI looks awful, they need to completely re-do that. I'm not sure what they were thinking with adding PVE wolves to a PVP battle royale game. They just seem totally out of place and if anyone gets all the way to the end and gets killed by a PVE wolf while trying to fight another player, they're not going to be happy. There is already a ton of RNG in BR games, so I'm not sure more needed to be added in the form of random wolf packs.

The only thing I did like was when I recognised the Yanov station from Call of pripyat. That was a nice little nod to the Stalker games. Although one thing i did notice is that the gfx are far less atmospheric than the Stalker games and nothing special at all. It didn't look much better than the first stalker that is now 12 years old and looked far worse than my Misery modded Call of Pripyat.

Just played my first game of this, finished 5th out of 97.

My initial thoughts are the performance isn't horrendous, it could be better. 40-50FPS maxed at 4k doesn't seem terrible.

The sound is superb and loads of atmosphere in the game, more so than any battle royale game I've played before. I'm going to get a few more games in and see how I feel.

They have stopped handing out BETA keys now but if anyone wants one you can get one from here for a quid, least it's something new to play and to try out if you were considering buying on early access on Wednesday.

I will buy this game but only at the right price, if it comes in at 20 quid I'm out, 10-15 I'll buy in.

I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole! Vostok Games failed to deliver on Survarium, and now they're recycling assets to cash in on the Battle Royale trend. It's a shameless cash grab!

Edit: I love how they always plug the Stalker series, as if their involvement gives them some sort of credibility. We all know the more influential members joined 4A Games and created the Metro series!

I know what you mean, however there is something about the game it COULD be good but at the moment it's in no state to be released as EA imo

I played 4-5 games last night and enjoyed it to an extent, but there are definitely some major flaws in my opinion.

- The map is far too big for the number of players - more often than not you're just running around aimlessly in the middle-game trying to find players
- Footsteps - so loud to the point it makes hearing other players difficult
- Healing - does it exist?
- Needs more vehicles

The atmosphere is fantastic and it looks better than PUBG, but a lot needs to be improve for me to buy it.

Agreed, it has potential. Too early to write it off tbh. More work needed.

You are the only remaining fan of no mans sky. Nuff said tbh.

I urge people to give the beta a try it will cost you a quid from the link above to play for weeks on end as it develops it does have potential and I want to give the devs a chance on this one

I’m on in 45-1hr if you are?

Sorry mate, played some CS and then hit the sack early last night. I'll be on tomorrow if you fancy some?

Played a few more games and won my last one with 8 or 9 kills. The end game is certainly fun with players either trying to extract and getting shredded instantly, or lurking around the edges. Healing items don't seem particularly rife so it forces you to be a bit more careful.

They really need to sort the AI out for the wolves - it's absolutely abysmal. They randomly teleport into buildings, run through walls/doors etc - I even had one damage me while I was driving a truck at high speed.
