Right I've recently reinstalled FEAR on my new desktop, got Vista 32 on it. I can play it fine stays perfectly at max 60fps. Then all of a sudden it drops to teens :| It only goes away when the game is restarted

Guessing it must have happened to someone else, how do I fix this?

Thanks :)

Patched FEAR up properly? Also, try disabling soft shadows - if I remember rightly, that was what used to cripple performance on FEAR.

Going through Perseus Mandate at the moment, not the most original of expansion packs - but still got some super-scary adrenaline junkie moments, which leave you with an empty gun, high as a kite but no target hit!!

Exactly the same happens to me (vista x64). A billion FPS smooth as silk then suddenly drops and locks at 12fps. Its apparently caused by logitech software and/or mice, the solution (well, poor workaround) is google-able, don't have the link with me right now but it has something to do with disabling certain USB composite devices in device manager.

yup, it's caused by logitech setpoint drivers. easily fixable if you've just got a logi mouse (uninstall the drivers and use the MS ones), but if you're using a G15 or whatnot, then it might take a while to google the answer :)
