Ive played fear mp but whats the sp like. Its just im moving from a x1950pro to a hd 3850 and thought it might be good time to get Fear and have a run through. What settings u reckon i could pull from it with my spec in sig plus hd 3850 512mb card?

Also hows the story in Fear?

Last time I played it, it had dated really badly :(

Still worth a play through though, just in time for Fear 2 :)

As for settings, medium-high I'd have thought .

Fear 1 definitely maxed. Especially at 1280x960. Was fine (well fine I did get fps drops but it was playable) maxed on a 6800GS at 1024x768 on release... Personally I think it's boring.

Its very dated these days. You will be able to run it fine on those specs, think i managed to run it on med/high on an x800. Still havent got round to playing fear 2 yet :(

Best first person shooter I have ever played I think, certainly in recent years. Excellent story and I share the same thoughts as above - has aged quite well.

I always likes the FEAR games. There is a pack with the first 3 that you can get for next to nothing if you look around.

It looks good in some places, yet poor in others - flame and heat effects are really good, model details is excellent although there aren't too many different kinds of enemies, and bullet effects and slow-mo is done superbly.

However, theres a LOT of office trundling around, limited closed-space areas, and although a few things in the environment move/break, it doesnt quite have even the same destructible feel as HL2's environment.

That said - There has been NOTHING since FEAR that I've enjoyed quite as much as running around with the 10mm HV penetrator, stapling replica soldiers to walls and giggling like a schoolgirl :p

Fear is running great. Tho stops when things loading :( but plays really nice maxed out.

Tho using 1600x res and subtitles on the subs are absolutly tiny. Is there any way to boost the size do you think?
