I pre-ordered skyrim, and I've played a few hours. Just starting to get into it really.

Today the stupid thing wont run outside of a tiny window, it doesn't save my settings in the options menu and it appears to have lost my save games.

/vent

I had a problem where the save games existed and in the right folder, but the game couldn't see them. Can't remember how I fixed it though sorry :/

TBH i'm not too bothered about losing the save, it was only about a 6hr character. However I really just wanna bosh it up fullscreen and enjoy losing myself for a few hours.

This is obviously the place to post your troubles. Not in either one of the other Skyrim threads, or perhaps on their support forums. Neither would it be wise to search google or the aforementioned forums to see if such a problem had happened to anyone else.

Oh no. That would be ridiculous.

Did someone slap you in the face and make you cry about 30 seconds before you posted this ?

What a considerate, helpfull, understanding individual you are..

It is stupidly buggy. So far i've been stuck in rocks and mid-air, had glitched dragon graphics, and got my character stuck on a horse. Not to mention having to delete the .blob file in steam pretty much every time I want to run it or it won't start. Still love it though.

op, i have the exact issue you have and have had it since i got it a week ago. The launcher can not find/write to the write skyrimpref.ini file. So basically i just copied a ini file for high/ultra settings from the interenet and problem solved.

Yeah this is the problem, just download a custom Skyrimprefs.ini from Skyrim Nexus, or get someone to upload theirs for you(i would do it myself for you, but i am using the one from the Nexus)

All Bethesda games from Oblivion to Fallout 3 and beyond have all been buggy. But, because it's Bethesda, their games are awesome, and they fix all the problems eventually we still love them.

:)

the prefs.ini is in documents>mygames>skyrim

Only outstanding issue I have is that LAA bug, bethesda are supposed to be releasing a patch this week to sort it.

to find your lost save games just start a game and save it once then search all your hard disks and you will find 2 locations one with lots of save games and one with just one. The one with just one is the new save location. Just copy your old saves and skyrim.ini and skyrimpref.ini over to the new folder.

My problem was I lost my storage drive when i installed the game so it made some random save place. Now i got my PSU back and my storage HDD the game has automatically reverted to this.

This would be quite a specific issue to me so not sure why others are having issues, but the above described search is the way to go.

Awww bless. Maybe I should post a thread 'fed up with pointless whine threads'. Oh, the ironing.
