Good afternoon folks,

I've had iphones since the iPhone 3g and always upgraded to the next iPhone, 3g,3gs,4 and I am getting fed up with it to be honest, the phone only does what I want when it's jailbroken and it's a constant struggle against apple to do what I want to do with my phone,

So, which phone do you think I should go for?

It can't be a HTC, I had a HTC phone back before the iPhone, the Touch HD based on recommendations from here and it was a decent phone but the touch screen went goofy after a couple of months and HTC said it was due to misuse (it wasn't) and wouldn't repair it, I said I would never buy any of their products again and I am sticking to it,

I have played around with a couple of Samsung phones before and they always felt cheap and tacky, is this still the case? the Galaxy s2 looks nice, is it any good?

Also the Xperia play looks like it could be decent, is the playstation controller bit just a gimmicky add-on that rarely gets used though?

I don't know what I want really, but I know I don't want a blackberry

Has anyone else jumped boat recently? what do you miss from IOS and what does android or other alternatives do better?

Thanks

It's not logical to dismiss HTC on the basis of your bad experience, they are good phones from a good company.

I spent over £500 with HTC and 3 months later they wanted another £180 for a repair that should have been covered under warranty but their engineers said it was caused by misuse, they said I was pressing the screen too hard or crushing the device, I always kept it in a case and was extremely careful with it, No phone I have had before or since has had the problem, I told them if they didn't repair it for free I would never use HTC again, I'm keeping my promise

Shouldnt dismiss a Blackberry tbh...have a look at the 9900, its the best BB out at the moment and is an absolute joy to use. Although it depends on if you want a huge touchscreen and if your an app whore so to speak...if thats the case then have a look at the 100's of Android handsets out there...

I do like my apps, I'm not an app whore but I like to be able to browse and see what's new and what I can waste my time on when I'm waiting around or on the loo

whats your budget?

Well I'm going to sell off my iPhone 4 which is in mint condition so I'm expecting at least £300 for that and I can put around £200 into the fund if need be
