Hi again. You might of read my previous posts about my computer being unstable and randomly rebooting.

I have tested the ram with memtest 86 for 14 hours - ok
I have tested the hard drive - ok
Temps - ok
Loading windows and applications - ok
Wires/cable - ok


There isn't any other problem accept the pc keeps on restarting. It restarted about 30 mins ago after being on for 9 hours, i wasn't stressing the computer at all, the only thing i was doing was browsing these forums!
The only thing i can think of now is the PSU that is causing all of this :confused: As i am not an expert like some of you guys please could you tell me what to do next?

Pc specs :

c2d e6300
HIS 256mb gfx
320 WD caviar
Asus DVDRW
Gigabyte ds3
Geil pc6400 800mhz 1gb (4-4-4-12 @+0.3v)

As i brought it just under a month ago i think it would be a wise idea to sort the problem out as soon as possible as i can then take the faulty part back for a refund or exchange can't I? (28 day return)


Any ideas of what the prob could be please
 
I know you have already tested your RAM, but have you tried taking the RAM out and reseating, and tried booting the computer with only one stick of RAM in at a time. If you suspect PSU then if you can try to borrow one, this should tell you if it is this component that is faulty.

EDIT

What is the make and wattage is your PSU and is it as old as the rest of your components
 
I had a very similar problem and it was doing my head in, but I later found out it was caused by my P4 prescott 3.2ghz CPU overheating to like 65degrees+. I refitted the (stock) heatsink and fan with new thermal paste, and problem solved :) Btw I also had random reboots even when the system wasn't being stressed.

Not to say this is definitely your problem but maybe double-check your cpu is fitted properly.
