Hello OcUk

Im studying Computer Science (Games) at University and I needed to install Linux for my Games Development module and have ran into a few problems.

I created the sufficient space and gave 17GB free to install Fedora 16. I installed it and everything seemed to be going OK but a few errors have occurred that I can't seem to find the solutions for on Google.

1: I cant click the windows that are open or alt tab through the different windows or open the "activities" menu. I am able to tab through the window that I am currently selected on and press enter to execute whichever command is highlighted. (this happens after I open up an application or try to download something e.g. tried to download Google chrome and the problem above happened).

2. (Not sure if this matters that much) on start-up after iv selected fedora to be loaded it has what seems to be a graphical error where there's streaks across the screen after the fedora icon is loaded which lasts for about 5-10 seconds then I can log in. (it could be related but figured it might be worth noting)

I would really appreciate any help as I am a very new user to Linux based operating systems. Only thing I can think of its got something to do with Gnome 3 but again I cant seem to find the right response in Google or the bug reports on the Fedora website.

Thanks

Mehmet

Certainly doesn't sound like anything related to partitions.

My guess would be graphics drivers; I would use the gnome-fallback session to disable any acceleration, if that fixes it, either run it like that or install your graphics cards propriety drivers and switch back to full fat gnome3 session.
