I posted this in laptops but hopefully get a few more replies here.
Looking for some feedback really. How are you finding it? Does flash work as expected?
Any comparisons with iPad - personal experience?

Would I be able to use external CF card readers with it and are there apps or inbuilt support for RAW image files?

Seriously thinking of replacing my iPad with one. Main issue being since Apple screwed around with the USB power output I cannot get either the camera connector SD card reader to read cards or use an add on CF card reader.

Considering either the Xoom with 3G contract or wireless only Acer Iconia A500.

3.1 has just added more USB compatability so you should be able to hook up most external drives/cameras (the transformer has a built in standard SD card reader)

Not to sure about raw images, the tegra 2 might struggle without neon (software would probably use this to read/convert etc?)

I'd wait until the next round of hardware (+ the new Adobe photoshop thing they keep showing) until you swap the iPad, only the transformer/samsung tabs have good screens too?

I find my Asus Transformer great, flash works well in the most part. Only a few issues but that's expected as its still beta for Honeycomb.

IPad comparisons, no idea.

Don't know about card readers, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Asus transformer user here. Had only 1 problem and thats video playback.
But as long as you get the right format of videos then all is good :)

So glad I bought the Transformer. It has huge potential

Xoom user, love it. I actually bought it for the wife and after using it, I could really replace my laptop with one of these. I only really browse the net and watch videos etc.

Considering either getting another Xoom or the Transformer.

Lolz.. wrong thread..

But as people have said, the new update brings USB Host support.. if it doesn't officially support USB readers/drives, I imagine the dev community will add it, the Honeycomb port on the Advent Vega supports host mode and USB drives..
