Just want some comments/criticisms on this spec, always good to get other point of views..
Might switch the 4870X2 with a GTX 295 depending on the reviews. (not going to be ordering this for a week or two)
Thx
Thanks for the replies.
This is my first time building a PC, so excuse my errors.
I am planning on overclocking the i7 920 to 3.8-4.0 Ghz. Would the P6T and G.Skill be fine? My budget isn't limited really, so I went for the Rampage II and Corsair Dominator. If it isn't worth it, I guess I'll just follow your recommendations.
Forgot about a boot drive. Picked a velociraptor, but I have never been sure if it is worth it.
Picked two GTX 280s for now, but as I said before, I will not be ordering the parts for a week or two and I guess the 295 will be out by then.
Still not sure about monitor choice but I would need something with an HDMI connection for my PS3. Was going to go for the dell but I read it has input lag as well as the higher price tag.
that monitor i recommended to you works great on the ps3,it has HDMI, i have that monitor and its really good, its the only monitor i know at 22 inch that has a resolution of 1920....its Full HD 1080p also,i was going to go for a 24 inch monitor but when i found this one i went for this instead as its cheaper, the resolution isnt that much difference,(1920*1080-22inch.....1920*1200-24inch)and its Full HD 1080p..great for the ps3 also!
The setup you are building is 99% identical to mine
BFG better clocks better warrenty & uk based rma + free stuff!
Gigabyte much cheaper just as good clocker & uk based rma
Zalman bargin 1000w psu with uk rma & its quiet
Noctura Stock termal paste is as good if not better than AS 5
And finaly in my experinace raptors are a waste & just pure epeen.
There performance increase over the above hdd is not worth the price also with SSD imo just a year away theres no point.
Ohh & corsair ram because do i really need to justfiy that
