Hey all,

I'm half-building a new PC for myself but wanted some feedback on the parts I'm choosing to see if they are suited or if you have any recommendations better items or cheaper ones for same perfomance.

CPU: AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail

MOBO: Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard

RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU)

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK)

SSD: Kingston 60GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S3B7A/60G) **Upgrade Bundle Kit /w Adapter**

Fans: Three Fan Bundle - Akasa AK-FN059 120mm Ultra Quiet Venom Viper Cool Fan - 3/4 Pin

Now I don't know much about RAM so that could really use looking at but didn't want to go much over £60 for it. This would be my first solid state so am not sure, does it make that much difference? It would be for Windows 7 and Steam games really. Also is 500W PSU fine I will be using this all with a EVGA GeForce GTX 660TI GPU which I already have.

Any feedback would be great thanks.

If you're going to overclock the CPU (which I'd recommend!) you will want a higher powered PSU, I'd go for 550 or 600W. You'll also want a reasonable cooler, but nothing too fancy. Otherwise it's all fine.

You can get a 120GB SSD for not much more than a 60GB one too. It makes a huge overall difference, not just for bootup. When you've used one, going back to a HDD is painful.

Okay so a 550 or 600 PSU I'll take that into account. I totally forgot but I do have a Corsair Hydro H60 as my cooler it's still doing the job just fine for now.

As for my budget its around £450 maximum.
