Hi

I'm almost ready to buy a new pc, I am looking for any feedback or suggestions on the parts below. The PC will be used almost exclusively for gaming as I work on a laptop.

It will be hooked up to a 24" 1920/1200 screen. I already have a case, HD, DVD drive and a copy of XP pro (if I choose to use it).

I will not be over-clocking or adding in another graphics card at any point. Once a PC is built I tend not to mess with it so I don't care about it being easy to upgrade/future proof.

OcUK 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-5300C5 667MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Vista Approved Kit
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
Asus P5K SE Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition

Do all these bits sit well together?

Is there anything that you would upgrade?

Is Vista 64bit worth buying when I already have XP sp2?

What would be a good PSU to go with this set-up (it will have 3 hard drives in it)?

Thanks in advance. :)

I wasn't sure about the ram speed matching up to the CPU, thanks for the recommendation I'll look into that. What will I gain by going for branded ram rather than OCUKs own stuff? is 800mhz the best speed to go for to match up to the processor?

I'll look at the corsair PSU, quiet is a big plus as the PC sits in my living room.

I would wait for the more energy efficient Q6600 but there is no ETA that I know of right now? I don't know if I can wait long! :D

The case it's in is old and ugly but I'm not that fussed about that because you can't see it without crawling under the table.

I'll look at the suggested cooler, it's something I'm happy to spend a few quid on to ensure low levels of noise.

Thanks for all your help, this forum never fails to set me on the right track when I want a new toy. :)
