I just bought from a simular place to overclockers i got a antec 900, I am having second thoughts does anybody here have one what do they think.. And if they think rubbish what should i get for about same price?

Does it cool well? Is it loud... Is it good quailty..

Phil

I also see what do people think about the cables?

I have one, i like it. The fans are very quiet, shame there is no motherboard tray. Cable routing is a bit crap, but nothing that cannot be worked around. Only fault i can see, is that the little plugs for the LED, Reset, PWR button are too short. Keep meaning to lengthen them.

so as a hole you think its a good case!?

I am most bothered about cables!

Just for you. Just took these pics. I like this case. Keeps everything pretty cool with all the fans in it. I had to mount my psu upside down as it had a bottom fan.

All the cables are run up the side. I prefer to have them inbetween the case and bays, but cannot on this case as theres no gap.

Theres even enough room for my fluffy dice

EDIT: And as you can just see from the last photo, the tuniq partially obscures the 120mm fan hole, it might fit if you modify the fan, but since i dont need the side fan, i dont use it. Its because the fan mounts in a diamond shape on the side.

WOw you have just sold me! I will keep it.. Thanks for taking those Pics! Does it run cool?

Antec 900's = Dust Catchers....... These cases are renowned for collecting a large amount of dust, plus they are to cramped for decent airflow for high spec systems..... ;) a lot of people have regretted buying them so you are not alone..... :( would recommend selling it and getting something half decent...

I have a 900 and am more than happy with it. With the Tricool fans it's very quiet set at low and windy at high :p

I can't say that they are particuarly cramped, i have an 8800 gfx card, sound card and two HDD's no problems with airflow at all. They may not be the roomiest of cases, but they are not cramped.

As for them being dust catchers.... i don't think there are any worse than other cases (only two of the fans blow in - the rest are exhaust fans), so the same as most other cases except they expell a hell of a lot more hot air !!! :)

Hmmm... Renowned by people who don't have them. All this is based on reviews in magazines when the case first came out and the reviewers had to fill some column inches. A tired old story, probably put about by people who know they spent too much on their cases :) Just clean the insides out or make your own filters.

Seriously though, the a900 is great. It would be difficult to find a sub £100 case that cools as well, took temps down by 10-15c on my components. When I first put it all together the arctic cooling CPU cooler's fan wouldn't come on - the case cooling was enough to passively cool it (e4300 o'ced to 2.7 at that time). Because I was overclocking I switched it on to legacy control. The fans are very quiet, mine are set to medium and they are virtually inaudible.

Good buy.

Agreed....probably the coolest running case on the market! (And looks cool)

Agreed....cables are a bit of a hastle!

Dust was a BIG problem with mine. Would be beter sitting a few inches off the ground if possible.

A friend of mine bought one a month ago and is now selling it on a well known auction site... reason is, he got fed up with digging all the dust out of it every other day... He will be glad to see the postman taking it away, and the dust with it.... :D Definately not a good buy.... but a "Good Bye" ;)

 By the sounds of it your mate wants to invest in a vacuum cleaner! If the box was getting that dusty after a month it might be an idea to keep away from his place in general on hygiene grounds :D Let's hope the poor posty doesn't have to go in there.

I've had mine over a month now and I can't see it being any dustier in there than my previous case.

Far from it, his computer room is imaculate, really a tidy person, the Antec 900 must have a secret dust making machine built into it.... :D

Ive had mine since late november, and apart from on the front there is nearly no dust about. Mines on my desk, not on the floor, and i hoover rarely.

Do the HDD cages pull out the front!?
doesnt look easy to change drives otherwise...

Yes there are two cages (holding x3 drives in each) and they are removed from the front...

lol PhillyDee nice set-up there. My m8s on about getting this case so i will point him to the thread later.

so does this case have some kind of speed switch for all the fans?
