Which version of Ubuntu do I download?

I have an E6600 with 4GB of RAM...I think its this version: "64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD" but the AMD bit is throwing me off...

Go with the AMD64 version even for Intel. I think it's AMD64 just because AMD were the first to implement 64 bit architecture.

What Operating System have you got on your computer. Are you installing alongside Windows?

You can use either - but I would use the i386 version personally as I had a few problems with flash on amd64 last time I tried (if you use the PAE kernel you can use all your memory). Having said that I know lots of people use amd64 just fine.

The 64-bit version works just fine.
