have they actually started shipping yet and covered their yaw 2 KSer pre orders? it was so long ago now they took money for this people who pre-ordered have sadly passed away without ever getting their order

it does look good I will admit but I would be reticent to plug the company at the moment due to the issues they have had am not sure I would trust them with my cash.
 
Looks pretty awesome. I take it that chair needs to be seriously bolted to the ground, or is there a massive ballast in the base ?

There is some mass in the base [110Kg] but it's mostly moving the person about their centre of mass, so it's unlikely to drop through the floorboards.

Seems to tilt the player back quite a ways, which was leading me to question the stability.

But 110K is quite some ballast. Shipping one of those things must be quite expensive, unless you buy sand or whatever locally for the ballast.
 
i have no idea how they do it, but providing your own ballast seems the sensible option to me. whether that would be a health and safety issue however for those who choose not to bother, i am not sure.
 
If you did opt for the alcohol of your choice, a sippy straw would mean the more you drank, the tipsier the system got, until you finished it all and fell over... Now THAT's immersion :)
