I'm going to be 57 soon and yet in many ways still feeling like I am roughly 30, that is until I saw this clip..

I had a 'moment' as I plugged the 3.5mm cassette adaptor into my car this morning. 'Not used this in about 11 years', I thought to myself. Been weeping quietly into my coffee ever since.:(

I remember W95 and DOS. After leaving school I remember hi-jacking this guy's computer and typing *.* which basically deleted all of his nerd data. Today, we'd call it pron. His name was Phil, he was fat and very very annoyed when he found out. Happy days.

The good old days - When I was 57 I just got my first PC and it had W98 (I think or could have been XP) and good old dial up.

My windows of choice now is W7 - I just can't get into swiping a screen and new W8 and W10 look - although laptop is W10 I have the app thing to make it look and act like W7.

My first PC was ZX Spectrum which is still in loft virtually unused. - wasn't into Dos.

ps - you are not old yet - far from it.

Your glass is only half full pops:)

...drink up and this will be a distant memory as the alcohol wipes out some more brain cells:D

watching this my reaction was...

Be proud Old Man that your cultural and historical knowledge will probably always be greater than theirs (wow that sounds condescending:o :D) you're not alone... coffin dodgers united:cool: :D :)

That teens using Win95 is fake. Start watching it and they didn't know how to turn it on which I find is a load of ********. Schools/colleges still use computers with separate monitors and base units which is no different from one running Win95.

Painful to watch.

Some of us didn't "do" Win 95 as we were already using a vastly better O/s (AmigaOs)

In fact I don't think I got Win 95 until around the end of 96 when I built my first Non Linear Edit computer.

Tyan Tsunami P2 @ 300mhz
Matrox G200 graphics
4gig scsi 2 fast & wide HD for capture/render
10gig IDE HD
Might have had about 512mb ram !!
Capture card cost £1100

Think I've got a pic here somewhere. lol In the same FULL tower was an 060 Amiga A1200 siamesed via serial & scsi to the pc.

Dat camcorder. :D

Thinking about it, barely anyone has a printer and scanner these days. Used to pretty much be a staple of any home PC!

There is so much to love and hate in this photo. Everything is massive I forgot just how little desk space we all used to have back in the day.

Also that telephone, mouse.... and colour scheme of computer vs wall :p:p:p

Basically this was my room at home :D

Way back, I bought a brand new Apple 2+ for USD 2000 ... and to think what I paid for future pc's like my Atari, Amiga, etc .. total cost being something I would rather not think about. Nice of course to be reminded that I am not alone in feeling old :) .

I remember having to install it with floppy discs!

I still remember windows 3.11 :D

Heck I remember having to tweak autoexec.bat and config.sys to make games/programmes work! Ahhhh memories.
