Hi all,

Anyone got either a felt or leather desk pad/mat?

How do they feel?

Im looking to get a nice desk mat for home to add some premium feel to my office, but I can't decide if they are more looks than function.

Im looking at 3 options - either a PU leather for £20, a real leather for £45, both in brown, or a felt mat for £40 in grey.

Thanks

I’m in a similar position. I tried a couple of PU ones off Amazon and the quality (I felt) was poor. If you curl them up they crease and just felt cheap. So that’s a no from me. A really nice leather one might be expensive?

Probably going to try a felt one myself next.

I tried using felt as a mouse mat once (just a random sheet of felt, not purpose-built as a mouse mat). The friction was way too high.

I tried a dual sided PU one with a cork backing. (it was a cheap one though)

PU side was ok for a bit and then gets sticky. Cork side was better, but mouse did not move as smoothly.

Gave it to my brother who eventually binned it. (he asked me first)

I have gone back to using my OCUK mat. :)

Don't know what size you need, but IKEA have a few. I got a very thin felt one from my local IKEA - but I'm in Germany and the UK IKEA site isn't showing the same one as available. They do have a fancy looking leather-ish one.
