Fence Quote

Thinking of extending my garden fence to incorporate some dead space down the side of my house plus add a small 3' fence along side of front garden to stop the neighbours driving over it.

I had a quote today but just wondering if you think this is a fair price? ...Job is in the North East.

5.4m of 6ft fence
4.8m of 3ft fence
Post Crete for the fence posts.

Materials and labour all in would be:

They are fence boards, like planks, not those big panels that you slide in up and down.

You might need to check the planning permission for the front garden fence. If it’s a new build estate with open plan gardens then it’s almost certain you’ll need it (and probably won’t get it). A hedgerow might be a better solution.

True but the other new build estate behind mine that's been there a few years now have fences all over the place and it appears no one has given a damn so thought I'd just try my luck too.

They’re still building yours though aren’t they?

Yeah and they are still building "Charles Church" homes at the bottom of the other estate so technically the builders (Persimmon) are still on it.

Have you seen his posting history? I’m not sure he’s the DIY type.

I could probably do that if I had all the right tools but then it will probably cost more than the quote to buy them.

Neighbours driving over the front garden?

Yeah house next door are squeezing 2 cars onto their driveway which is only the width of 1.5 cars.

Not yet, never spoke to them since they moved in about a month ago.
