So we've recently tackled a decent sized overgrown area at the bottom of the garden with the intention of growing a few things down there. Only trouble is we have a large Greyhound who will obviously pose a bit of an issue if he decides to mess there.

Is there anything that can be built/brought to deter him? He isn't likely to jump over anything to high but he's so tall that anything below 2ft isn't really going to be an issue for him.

Electric fence? How wide is the area, how much physical effort versus how much cost?

2 inch posts and chicken wire will give you a meter high fence, shop around posts are £3 for a 6 foot post. 50m chicken wore about £55. Stock fence might be cheaper.

It's not an especially large area, maybe 8x6ft.

I don't like the idea of an electric fence, but I don't mind putting in the work if it keeps costs down. Chicken wire might well be the best solution but I think a 6ft post is probably overkill considering the size of the area, though I could just fence of the bottom of the garden entirely.

Unfortunately electric fencing won't be an option as he is a minor heart condition and I'd prefer not to risk it.
You don't have to turn it on or find some other mesh net.

Only other way we found that kinda works was make a picket fence, only one dogs who had intelligence managed to find a way over.
