Thats quite literally impossible, Nvidia produce their cards in the same factory with the same limited supply,

Nvidia and ATi use different groups now. ATi uses Global Foundries and has done since the 4000 series i believe.

I don't mind them guzzling power in game, but idling it better be sub-40w or I'm going 5870 Vapor-X (would have already if not for hopeless stock levels!)

ATI still use TSMC for their GPUs, though this will likely change once GF have their 28nm process up to speed.

They're on show at CeBIT right now, ***** are doing a thing on them.

No details yet because of the NDA, but expect loads of info everywhere as soon as it's lifted.

Bad news that the lower card still shows stuttering in the sled demo. You would think Nvidia would have a demo which ran silky smooth to show off Fermi.

The reported prices in the other thread of £500 to £600 for the gtx480 is a joke.

Who the hell nowadays is going to pay that for a graphics card?
