I have a GTX 260 and I've been thinking about upgrading to a GTX 570, but its always mixed opinions some say upgrade other say wait for 'Kepler' which will be out in Nov. I'm confused guys help?

I play FSX but that is more CPU and RAM intensive. I was thinking more along the lines of update the graphics so it matches the present processor. Apart from that used for HD movies, photo editing.

If your current is struggling to play at the settings you like, then upgrade.

Otherwise, would it really hurt to wait a few months?

Do what I did and save some money by going for a 560ti and overclock it.

Asus 560 ti £189 and at 975 / 1950 / 4500 stable !

The O/C preorder of £174 is a bargain !

Ive been in exactly the same boat! I have had my GTX295 for a few years now and was going to wait for keplar! but was getting poor performance in crysis 2. i went and bought a GTX580 twin frozr II yesterday and its amazing! can tell a big difference in water and shadow enviroments. when keplar comes out and beats the 580 Il just put another in as I bet it will be a lot cheaper then. cant tell you how quiet it is though. really happy and it was £350 half what i paid for GTX295 when new

yeah thats probably the next time i upgrade when maxwell apears, but if history is anything to go by, then I wouldnt expect super improvements like 6-8times performance. as the gtx590 took nvidia 2years to build as they say and its nowhere near as fast as 2x 580s and has a few design problems with heat etc.

not thought about a 6950? to ulock to a 6970? or a 480? the 6950 stock is on par with a 560 however the 6950 at 6970 bios and a 480 are on par with eachother, and are dirt cheapp....

I've heard the 6950 are 6970s what don't perform as well under testing? So unlocking them is just making your card fry and reducing it's life by a huge amount! It's the same with the amd phenon 2 x2 555 can be unlocked to x 4 but only a certain chipset can support it, and the price increase in mb is more than price difference in chip in the first place. And even a full 6970 can't touch a 580
