Ferodo DS2500 alternative

EBC wise I think you can only get greenstuff pads, which are a 'performance' upgrade with less dust; ideally you want yellowstuff.

Can't think of other pad manufacturers off the top of my head... Ferodo, EBC...

Pagid?

Have some green stuff on the mx5. Jesus they make a fair bit of dust and I'm not even a heavy braker in general. Reasonable performance though for what I paid, for just road use.

Best pads I've ever used Performance Friction, the DS2500 are not even comparable for the longevity, braking power and fade resistance. I run 08 compound in both the 911 and M3.

Other great pads are the Pagid RS29 and carbo Lorraine.

All these are very track orientated though and more you'll ever need on road but they have good cold properties.

Carbone Lorraine CL5+ are very good on track and are very very good when cold unlike other performance pads i've used, they do squeal a lot when braking very lightly so i dunno if i'd want to run them in a daily.

I've used Mintex before and they were quite good but not sure specifically which one, remember them being in a red box cant believe I forgot all about them, at the time I got MTEC discs and Mintex pads from a seller on ebay and they were a good deal, might look into the same again

I'm after a fast road pad, the car wont see a track and brake dust drives me bonkers

A few things to look into, thanks for the replies

My brother had Carbone Loraines on his Clio and they squealed a lot

is that due to the metal in the pads? apparently they kill discs too

EBC yellows work well on Hondas

I don't think they have them for his car. When I looked on the EBC website it was just the 'greenstuff', which are no good.

Yellow Stuff are available but £112

I hear they can be quite dusty too, do you use them on your S2K Simon and if so with what discs?

Tarox are also available, never heard anyone mention them though

The older CL5 pads would spark, as will the 6 & 8's racing pads which isn't great if you care about your wheels and paint as the sparks will weld them self to whatever they touch and then start to rust :p

The CL5+ ones don't seem to do that however as they're a far newer design but no getting away from the fact that they're sintered.
