Reading about this on Eng earlier, I agree with some of the comments, for laptops and portable devices this tech would mean daysof usage for high performance hardware. A Smatphone that can be actually "used" for days instead of up to a day on full chat would be amazing!

Impressive times ahead, not just for RAM :p

it's only a tiny part of a laptop/phone's hardware. It's not going to account for power drain from the phones screen, radio/modem, wireless, CPU/GPU processing etc.
 
If the technology is used in other areas of laptops/devices it would be. Inside CPUs, north/southbridges etc. Anywhere a transistor is used could benefit.
