Went camping with some friends last week, needed a break from the city and obviously lugged all my gear up to a nice spot at melon udrigle, was expecting the conditions to be terrible (as they are every single time I go) but was treated to some nice light and a nice sunrise at 3:45am,

Also got bitten by midges until I bled in the sand dunes - but the light made the sand-dunes sing so I covered myself in deet and dealt with it ;_;

Was there for a week and got a day and half of good conditions, the rest was just rain and wind.... god I love Scotland..

Very nice indeed!... where is this?

We spend our honeymoon in Scotland fourteen years ago today, starting near Glen Coe for a week, and moving up to Gairloch (well, Badachro) for the second... your pics look very much like a beach we visited, close to where we stayed that second week, but the name escapes me.

Such a beautiful place, despite the midges.... I found taking garlic capsules (the smelly ones) seemed to keep them away me, much preferring my non stinking wife :D

Hi, thanks!

It's a place called Mellon Udrigle, take the road from Ullapool towards Gairloch then after about 30 miles turn right at a village called Laide - follow the road all the way round, it's nice all along there, if you go RIGHT to the end down a single track road, you end up at the beach where these shots were taken,

I like the last one, but the massive white borders are really off putting. It's a massive distraction for me and I can't concentrate on the photo due to the white glare!

Cheers,, I wasn't actually sure myself so I got rid of them and re-uploaded, I think there was some sort of discussion on here a while back about the blue forum background - I think the white borders improve the image on the forum, but it does screw with your eyes, so i've got rid of them
