I think the two swan photos are stunning - are they with the 18-55 or the sigma? You've managed to catch them in really good light - something I have been struggling to do lately (fingers crossed for this weekend).

Really well done m8. The others are nice but they don't push my buttons like the swans.

The swan shots were taken with the Sigma, might post a few more later in HDR, just having a mess with them in Photomatix. Thanks for the comments as well :)

heh you may well have just pushed me into buying the Sigma for my D80. What's the image quality like at the far end of the tele and are you shooting handheld or with a tripod?

Thanks for the comments guys, I really did try with this set of photo's to put everything into place I have learnt so far....it was kind of strange as I was walking around I was imagining how what I was looking at would be if it were framed, guess it worked anyhow :D

More to follow soon...:D

Hi

Can you post the settings you used to take each of the pictures please?

Im still in the learning stage, and would like to be able to produce shots like that with my 400D.

Many Thanks
James :)

Done...I've added EXIF details for each shot below it, hope this helps you out, all the shots were taken on Aperture Priority setting (AV).

The Sigma is a lot of lens for very little money and I have been hugely impressed with it so far.

If you look at the EXIF data you will see that a lot were shot at 300mm and all of those shots were handheld, however in low light a tripod is essential to avoid the obvious camera shake.
